Ben is Co-founder at Science Works and is professor of practice in research and innovation policy at the University of Strathclyde. He was formerly the Head of Science at the Centre for British Progress and a senior policy adviser to the UK Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology, advising multiple science ministers since 2019. He has held a number of roles in both the civil service and in UK scientific funding agencies.
